In the good ol' days of war...

WARNING: What I'm about to propose is very radical... But may just make you think!

So back in the old days, when a country was at war, the purpose was to conquer land, gold, riches, power, etc. Or maybe countries went to war to defend themselves against attack. So now we are at war with terror. Defeating terror may make us feel safe but it does not gain us any land, riches, gold, or power. Instead we spend billions a day, soldiers lives, and taxpayer's money to try and defeat terror. We will never have anything to show for it. On top of all this we help countries harboring terrorist learn how to defend themselves against terror too. The USA is such a giver.

Now, I'm not trying to belittle our troops, or our mission in Afghanistan & Iraq. I have a HUGE amount of respect for our soldiers and am SO grateful! I'm just a capitalist who thinks we should get something in return for all our giving. So what may these countries we're helping have to offer; power, riches, gold...OIL!

Genius! A solution to our debt crisis! We'll give you our soldiers, help your civilians live safely, train your military, get the bad guys, and try to defeat terror. In return, you will allow us to drill for oil in your country. We will set up rigs like military bases. We will own certain parcels of land, that are American soil, within your country.

200 years ago this would have been OBVIOUS, and the only acceptable way to "win" a war. Now since we have wars with ideas instead of countries or civilizations it's impossible to recoup the money spent in conflict.

You want us to fight a war for you?!?!? Because it's the "humanitarian" thing to do? We will collect the riches your country has to offer to cover the costs. Unfortunately, if anyone besides me, some angry blogger, proposes this idea, the USA will just be deemed money/power/land hungry. This is just one blogger's solution to increase revenues & supplement our insane spending.
